3. Amazon collaborates with a US startup tech company to compete against Microsoft and Google
As AI development competition intensifies, Amazon decided to invest a maximum of 4 billion dollars into a generative AI startup called Anthropic. Anthropic was found by former workers of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT.
Anthropic is known for its effort to improve the safety of generative AI by preventing erroneous responses from its generative AI similar to ChatGPT.
In its announcement published on the 25th by Amazon, this partnership will enable Amazon's clients to easily incorporate Anthropic's generative AI technology into their App.
The two companies are planning to collaborate in the development of semiconductors required for machine learning.
While Microsoft is leading in the field of generative AI as it is willing to provide billions of dollars of funding to OpenAI over several years, Amazon seems to be trying to catch up Microsoft and Google by creating partnerships with startups.
